July 7, 2021 update: several weeks after announcing the arrival of offline playback on Apple Watch, Spotify is finally rolling out the feature. See details at the end of the article.
Spotify has just published a new article detailing three additional features compatible with its app for Apple Watch, including Series 6. his iPhone. The list of commands now accessible on the watch contains not only play and pause, but also the passage from one track or from one episode to another (because remember, the catalog also contains podcasts).
In version 8.6.28, which in fact already dates from May 19, the service also allows wearables to interact directly with smart objects in their home via Connect. This name actually hides a number of eligible brands, including assistants such as the Amazon Echo or Google Home, video game consoles such as Sony’s PlayStation 5 or even speakers from the manufacturer Bose.
To download music to your Apple Watch, the procedure is different. Already, it is necessary to be a Premium member. As a reminder, in mainland France, it costs 9.99 euros per month to subscribe to it alone, which is the same price as for Apple Music. A price that rises to 15.99 euros per month for families against 4.99 euros for students. As for the Duo package, it is charged 12.99 euros per month for two people as its name suggests.

When you are subscribed, the procedure is as follows:
- choose the playlist, album, show or track to download
- touch the button in the form of three ellipses (…)
- the menu that is then displayed offers to download the content
Thereafter, it is possible to consult in real time the progress of the downloads in the dedicated section of the Spotify application. The music received is finally embellished with a small green arrow indicating when it is finished, as on mobile.
More choices with Siri
Finally, the Spotify application for Watch also announces more sentences to challenge Siri, to start reading of course, but not only. Indeed, you can also now like a sound and even play with your playlists. The French translation has not yet been released.
