would this be the A14 chip of the next iPhone 12?

The new generation of Apple smartphones is expected for September. It should act of a new range of iPhone 12, taking over from the 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, with possibly a fourth 5.4-inch model.

They should incorporate many new features, including a new processor chip. The latest generation of iPhone takes advantage of the power of the A13 Bionic chip. The next generation should be underpinned by the A14 chip logically.

And this is precisely the point supported by the Twitter user named Mr. White. The latter, with a pretty good history of leaking Apple a few hours ago published what it presents as photos of the A14 processor.

Apart from the acronym “A14”, we can see the mention “2016”, which means that this model was designed in the 16th week of 2020, ie during the month of last April.

What we know so far about this new generation processor is that it is manufactured by TSMC, Apple’s usual subcontractor, using a 5 nm engraving process. And concerning the power, if we are to believe the first Geekbench tests published so far, we should expect a nice performance gain compared to the A13 chip of the iPhone 11.
